Biography

More of a superhuman event than a sideshow! The League of Sideshow Superstars is a host driven, new cabaret, theatre/circus stunt show - a journey into an exciting and bizarre world, perfect for dedicated circus aficionados and non-theatre goers alike. A series of short stunt based routines, featuring high-skill circus and extreme sideshow stunts are sewn seamlessly together by the MC. Sideshow, like burlesque, is experiencing huge revival and The League of Sideshow Superstars is at the forefront of this revival.

The League of Sideshow Superstars was first conceived as a one-off performance at the Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2005. Eight hundred people packed out the main hall and the show was such a success that “The League” became the highlight of the fringe for the next 4 years. Since then The League has become Australia’s premier platform for sideshow artists.

They perform regularly at Adelaide and Brisbane Royal Shows and at the Sydney Easter Show as The Psycho Sideshow. They also work at a range of Art Festivals and Music Festivals. The founder and front man Shep Huntly was an original member of The Happy Sideshow, and has developed a reputation as a formidable host and charismatic MC.

The cast of The League is elastic depending on the availability of the artists and the needs of the client. All cast members are drawn from the elite of Australia’s sideshow community. For Harvest 2012, The League is made up of Shep Huntly (The Man with the Iron Skin), The Great Gordo Gamsby (Sword Swallower and Cigar Box Master), Lilikoi Kaos (Escape Artist and Hula Hooper) and Sideshow Pat (Clown, Larrikin and Sideshow Artiste).
