Hailing from Oxford in the UK, exciting and original math rock band THIS TOWN NEEDS GUNS is heading to Australia for the upcoming ‘Harvest’ music and arts festivals taking place in November. And now organisers are happy to announce two special sideshows for SYDNEY and MELBOURNE only.
The Sydney Morning Herald describes the music of THIS TOWN NEEDS GUNS as featuring “intricate pop guitar work, with a touch of jazz and Spanish influences.” This is certainly apt as their twisty guitar lines and swirling melodies are balanced by crisply precise drumming, and complex playing that remains unprocessed and largely clean in tone, serving to highlight the intelligence and sophistication of the band’s music.
These British wunderkinds are “definitely one of the most artistic groups that have come around in a while” according to Sputnik Music. Their wonderfully evocative and stylistic debut album ‘Animals’ is “better than a trip to the zoo” (says the Sydney Morning Herald again) and creates a harmonious dichotomy of fragile, melancholic vocals layered on top of the zany guitar noodling and jolting time signatures.
